Latch-Hooking Techniques

How to Cut Your Yarn

Latch Hooking - Method 1

Latch Hooking - Method 2

Comparing Latch Hooking Methods

Latch-hooking is nothing more than a simple knot made again and again – and that easy-peasy knot is behind everything from fluffy coasters to full-sized rugs. In these videos I'll show you how to cut your own yarn lengths evenly using a quick cardboard template, then take you through both of my latch-hooking methods: Method 1 for quick, consistent knots with classic yarn, and Method 2 for bulkier yarns or multiple strands in one knot.

You'll also learn about directional stitching – how to plan which way you stitch so longer yarn hangs beautifully down your finished piece.
